Sophie Russell is the managing director of Kinetic Business Marketing based in Gravesend, Kent. Sophie kindly took some time out of her busy day to answer some questions about her fast-growing business and explain the impact The Calls Warehouse has had on her business…

What does Kinetic Business Marketing do?

We’re a full service, UK based marketing agency. Our work is focused on growing sales and exposure for our clients. 

Our core specialisms are telemarketing and data services for clients which range from small businesses to large corporates. We operate in a variety of sectors including financial services, professional services and business services.

The telephone still works as a marketing tool for all businesses. Times change, but at their core, people don't. We still need the human touch to properly connect with others. Companies employ us to generate leads, set appointments with their prospects and identify them through high quality data sources.

What made you start your own business?

I always wanted to start my own business and the chance to earn my own money rather than working for someone else. I had plenty of experience in this sector as did my business partner. We decided to go it alone and so far it’s gone really, really well.

What are your growth plans?

We’re already looking to move to larger premises and recruit more staff. The sky is the limit for our business. We’ve made some really good connections and secured some brilliant contracts since we launched. We’re not going to rest on our laurels and we’ve made sure that we’ve surrounded ourselves with good advisers such as accountants and contacts in the wider business community to help us out.

 

What advice would you give to anyone starting their own business?

Just do it! Too many people spend too much time planning things and not enough time actually doing things. If you’re passionate about your business people will see that and will often be only too happy to help. It’s a challenging thing to do and having to deal with all the things that come associated with running a small business is time consuming but I’d encourage anyone to step outside of their comfort zone.

How do you promote your business?

We reply on word-of-mouth and we undertake some social media activity. We’ve been keen not to over promote ourselves during the first year of the business so that we don’t take on too much work and be unable to fulfil it. Our order pipeline is healthy at the moment and we’re happy with our rate of growth. After our first full year of trading we’ll get an annual marketing plan together and start promoting our business through different channels such as PR, direct marketing and some more digital marketing tactics. Our best source of work is through happy existing clients of ours. We value nothing more than long lasting business relationships with our clients.

How has The Calls Warehouse helped your business?

Quite simply we’ve saved a lot of money compared to when we were with BT. We make a lot of phone calls on behalf of our clients and our quarterly bills with BT were more than £600. We’ve reduced that down to no more than £70 a month with The Calls Warehouse.

What’s the service been like with The Calls Warehouse?

First class. We have our own personal account manager (Cherie) and she’s brilliant with us. We’ve been extremely happy with the service offered by their team. We love their new website too!
